Description
The tour begins in Naples, with a visit to its charming historic center, strolling through the main streets and including a stop at the Church of San Giuseppe dei Vecchi and Immacolata di Lourdes, where the remains of Padre Dolindo Ruotolo are kept. We will then accompany you to the Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary in Pompeii, an important Marian devotional center.Next, the journey continues to Pietrelcina, the birthplace of Padre Pio, where you can visit his childhood home, the Chapel of Sant'Anna, and walk through the places that marked his youth. The tour moves on to San Giovanni Rotondo, with a visit to the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, the modern church designed by Renzo Piano, and the site where the remains of Padre Pio are kept.
The tour also includes a stop at the Sanctuary of St. Michael the Archangel, an ancient and revered pilgrimage destination. Afterward, we head to Alberobello to admire the famous trulli, and then to Matera, to explore the Sassi, a UNESCO World Heritage site, known for its unique rock-carved dwellings and ancient rupestrian churches.
After Matera, the journey continues to Lanciano, where you can visit the Sanctuary of the Eucharistic Miracle, renowned as the site of the first documented Eucharistic miracle. The tour then proceeds to Manoppello, known for housing the Holy Face, a relic believed to be the veil representing the face of Christ.
Following this, you arrive at Castel Gandolfo, the summer residence of the popes, where you can visit the Papal Gardens and the Palace. The tour concludes in Rome, with the discovery of major sacred sites, including St. Peter’s Basilica and other historic landmarks of the capital, before the transfer to Rome airport for departure.
